We are always looking for an easier way to do things. We tend to choose fast, quick and immediate solutions. Who wouldn’t, right? Everyday, we find better methods and techniques to do things. We innovate ways to do things faster and with the least amount of effort and manpower. This is a normal human trait.
Losing weight has always been a chore. Not only does it take time, it also requires a lot of discipline, commitment and motivation to follow through with an exercise regimen and diet.
There are a lot of quick ways to lose weight out there. However, you need to remember that losing weight affects our body’s natural homeostasis, that is, the ability or tendency our body has of maintaining its internal equilibrium by adjusting its physiological processes. So a sudden loss of weight can cause adverse reactions to your health. We need to look for not only the quickest way to lose weight, but also the safest path to take.
Liposuction is a common option for a lot of people. It is not only ideal for the obese but also those with ideal weight since some of us want to remove flabby arms, double chins, or other fatty deposits that can’t be removed by regular exercise. There is also a surgical procedure known as gastrectomy, more commonly known as stomach stapling. During this procedure, a surgeon removes a portion of your stomach, making your stomach smaller. When your stomach is smaller, you tend to become full faster when you eat; thereby reducing the amount of food you eat. This is ideal for the obese or those who tend to eat even when they are full.
Before you decide to take either of those two routes, you need to remember that they’re both surgical procedures. All surgeries are subject to risks and complications and they can have fatal consequences. Not only that, but you need to be ready to spend at least $5000 for one surgery. So before you decide, let’s read on and explore what are your other options.
Diet pills are a popular option option but are not that reliable since every person reacts differently to them. Each person has a unique metabolism. If diet pills worked for one person, you can’t guarantee if it works best for you too.
The quickest and safest route you can take is regular exercise and strategic dieting. I understand that this may sound like a hassle and that it will take too long before you see results. However, let me share to you some pointers that can help you get good and quick results:
1.) EAT 5 MEALS A DAY: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day (and this is actually true!) Skipping this meal is unhealthy. You need to eat 3 sensible meals and 2 light snacks in a day so you can avoid impulsive food cravings when you see a Burger King commercial. This is a standard for a quick weight loss. Eating a well-balanced diet helps. Consult your dietitian for a diet that fits you.
2.)EAT PROTEINS! Proteins are not that easy to digest and metabolize. Eating proteins take more than 3 hours to digest and spends your body’s excess calories in an attempt to digest them. This helps you since it takes a while before you’ll go hungry again plus you burn calories.
3.)EXERCISE: It goes without saying that weight loss doesn’t happen by following diet restrictions alone. Exercise is a crucial part of your regimen. The best way to implement this is to join a good gym and have a trainer supervise your exercise. Your trainer will be able to help you out with motivation, give advice about your diet and monitor your success. Remember, you don’t have to do this alone. If you can’t join a gym, you can always commit to jogging daily.
4.)COLORS MATTER: Red, orange and yellow are colors that increase your appetite and craving for food. Just think about McDonalds, KFC and Burger King food chains. Did you ever think the colors they chose were random? Dark blue is the #1 color that lowers appetite. Change your dining utensils or repaint your kitchen with dark shades of blue.
5.)DRINK WATER: Ideally, it is best to drink 8-10 glasses of water daily. Your kidneys will be able to flush out toxins and wastes as a result of fat and protein metabolism. Adequate fluids help in fat metabolism. You can also use fluids to your advantage. Try to drink fluids 10-15 minutes before a meal so you can get full faster.
These steps are the safest and at the same time, the quickest route to weight loss. There may be bumps along the way but make sure to commit and discipline yourself to achieve that goal. Be realistic with your goals and don’t push yourself too much.
